Alumni Workshop of the Future of Economy Programme (FEP)

From December 7-9, 2023, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) hosted its first Alumni Workshop for the Future of Economy Programme (FEP).

This three-day event brought together alumni to engage with forward-looking topics and develop new skills. The workshop kicked off with an inspiring opening speech by Arta Shehu Zaimi, co-founder of jCoders Academy and Labbox. Her talk on the revolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today's workforce provided participants with valuable insights into the organizational changes necessary for successful AI integration during the session on "The Future of AI-Driven Workforce Transformation."

The second day of the workshop focused on the future of work and labor rights. Economic development expert Sytrime Dervisholli led a lively discussion on key labor rights issues, highlighting challenges and emerging trends in the session on "The Future of Work and Labor Rights." Shqipe Jashari Sekiraqa, an economics researcher, facilitated a group exercise where participants developed innovative ideas and solutions for the labor market.

On the final day, participants received practical training in negotiation techniques and conflict resolution. Paula Garzon, an economist and international negotiator, led the session on "Negotiation Skills and Conflict Resolution," teaching the fundamentals of effective negotiation with a focus on collaborative problem-solving and win-win outcomes. FES extends its thanks to the speakers and the engaged participants and looks forward to further collaboration and expanding the network of young economists from the Western Balkans.
