Sustainable mobility and development study visit to Koprivnica, Croatia

Fostering green, inclusive, and forward-looking municipalities

In early April 2025, representatives from the municipalities of Kamenica and Vushtrri, supported by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Kosova, participated in a study visit to Koprivnica, Croatia — the first Croatian city to adopt a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP).

The program focused on exchanging experiences and exploring best practices in sustainable transport, vocational training, business innovation, and environmental protection. Participants had the opportunity to visit key local sites that demonstrate successful models in these areas, gaining first-hand insights into how urban mobility and local economic development are closely interconnected.

The visit highlighted the importance of accessible public transport, especially for improving women's access to employment in rural areas, and encouraged ideas that can be adapted and implemented in Kosovo municipalities.
