Civil Society Forum Prishtina

The CSF Prishtina was held from December 7-8 2017 in Prishtina, Kosovo gathering civil society members from across the region to discuss pressing issues.

The CSF Prishtina was held from December 7-8 2017 in Prishtina, Kosovo gathering civil society members from across the region to discuss pressing issues: How can civil society have a stronger impact on the EU accession process? Who can monitor the implementation of agreements? How can regional negotiations become more transparent and inclusive? What are the next steps in preparing for upcoming political summits? What is needed to ensure a structural dialogue between the civil society actors of southeast Europe in the future? How can civil society actors collaborate on setting a progressive agenda, focusing on pressing problems for the citizens and holding governments accountable?

The aim of the Civil Society Forum of the Western Balkans Summit Series is to establish dialogue between governments, civil society, and EU representatives to facilitate and inform the Berlin Process as well as overall EU integration of the Western Balkans. With the unclear future of the Berlin Process ahead and the London Summit approaching, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in cooperation with European Fund for the Balkans and ERSTE-Stiftung organized another regional Civil Society Forum, this time in Prishtina. The CSF Prishtina provided a platform to voice concerns, criticisms and new ideas in order to come up with strategies to deepen the participation and impact of civil society in the European Integration Process and to coordinate this regionally. A follow up report with the documentation of the event can be found below.
